Beskrivning
Mount Sherpa is a new restaurant with fine-dining opened in May, 2013 in Kuopio, as the first Nepalese cuisine restaurant in Kuopio region.
Mount Sherpa will be located in käsityökatu 25 in heart of Kuopio City Centre.
Sherpa in Nepal are best known for living at high altitudes and for facilitating mountaineering and trekking expeditions. Despite being the smallest ethnic group of the overall population, Sherpas are the most well known group of immigrants into Nepal and they are also one of the most studied groups for anthropologists due to their rich history and culture. The population of Sherpas in Nepal totals approximately 35,000 and they are primarily located in the central and Eastern parts of Nepal. The Sherpa people of Nepal became prominent to Westerners after the first successful Mt. Everest expedition in 1953 by Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay. The skill, expertise and dedication of Sherpas have made them an integral part of international Himalayan climbing as Guides.
Restaurant Sherpa is a new Nepalese restaurant in Kuopio that presents a gastronomical experience which is prepared with great care and attention and has no room for short cut methods by our highly rated Master Chef. The common factor of the Nepali food is the fresh herbs and spices, many of which are unique to Nepali cooking. The heart of a Nepali meal is Dal Bhat (lentils and rice) and Achar (Chutney) surrounded by other main dishes.
Restaurant Sherpa is a great place to eat, combining an intriguing atmosphere with excellent, interesting food. The mission is not only to have great tasting food, but have efficient and friendly service because customer satisfaction is paramount.
