Beskrivning
Vikkollen was a ski jump in Mjøndalen in Buskerud, owned by Mjøndalen IF. The hill where it was constructed was at the farm of Bothnia, just south of Mjøndalen center. It was the venue for the National Ski Jump Championships in 1946 and Nordic Combined Championships in 1960. Reidar Amble Ommundsen set a world record in Vikkollen with 54 meters on 7 February 1915.HistoryThe jump was built in 1912 and officially opened on 28 March 1914. The first world-record jump was 38 meters in 1915. It was not broken until 1933, when Reidar Andersen jumped 67 meters - the year before the jump was reconstructed.Vikkollen was scheduled to be the site of the national championships 1941, but the event was cancelled because of the sport strike during the World War II.The jump was reconstructed again in 1950, the year after Erling Hook extended the world record to 86 meters. After yet another modification, the national ski jumping championships in 1960 were held in Vikkollen. Ole Tom Nord was the Norwegian champion. In March 1960, the last jump record of 86.5 meters was set by the Finnish Paavo Lukkariniemi in a Nordic race.The last race in Vikkollen was held in 1963, and three years later, the scaffolding collapsed.World records 1915 18px Reidar Amble Ommundsen 54 m (148 ft)
